Tencent’s most popular feature is its Instant Messanger platform QQ, but that just scrapes the surface of this internet giant. Tencent also offers a news portal, online multiplayer gaming, streaming media, an auction site and much more. Furthermore, Tencent is the third largest internet company by market cap, behind Google and Amazon and with 636.6 million active Tencent QQ IM user accounts it is in fact the world’s largest online community.
Tencent makes most of its money from the sale of virtual goods and online services than from advertising, according to Fast Company.
